Exhaust interchangeability na6 and na8.

Postby Keith » Sun Dec 29, 2013 8:19 am

I am putting aN NA6 back to standard for the supersprints (Div 1A: bog standard).I have to find a standard NA6 exhaust to put back on it. I put in an ad in the WTB thread but had no pms.
An Na8 standard system is available on Ebay. Obviously the headers wont fit. It is the system Aft of the headers I am enquiring about.
Does anyone know if the NA8 system will fit an NA6? I already have a set of NA6 standard headers, so it is the system after the flange at the end of the headers that I am asking about...viz the downpipe, cat and catback.

I believe you should have no worries fitting a catback from an NA8 to your NA6. :)
We've got an NA6 with the NA8 stock midpipe and muffler (but not the NA8 cat) on it and there's no problems with fitment.

Thanks Slug_dub. Do you have stock na6 headers fitted? I am wondering if the na8 front pipe that goes between the stock headers and the cat would fit ...I would be mating NA6 headers to an NA8 exhaust if I cant find a genuine NA6 system, and the length of that front pime would be critical.Do you have that standard NA8 front pipe?

Cat back looks relatively compatible. Does anyone know if the downpipe from the headers to the cat from a 1.8 will bolt onto a 1.6.?

yes all the same, except the actual exhaust manifold.
down pipes/cats/midpipes/mufflers are the same.

same goes for aftermarket stuff, except header units, they are only 1.6L or 1.8L specific.
