Brown Coolant?

Postby asvi » Thu Oct 03, 2013 10:34 am

Hey guys,

I got my nb serviced last week at mx5mania and they flushed my coolant and changed my radiator. My only concern is when I just took off my radiator cap to check there seemed to be a small tinge of brown in the pinkish/red coolant they use.

Anyone have any ideas what could've caused this?

Prob just corrosion left in the system. Especially after a flush.

Should I just let it be or give it another flush and refill when possible?

Thanks.

Take it back and ask them to do it again, they may have just not flushed it well enough.
Normally you flush the system with water until it's clean. (unless of course, there's a huge amount of rust and crap in the system)

It's possible also that it's some sediment from the coolant overflow reservoir. That can sometimes get missed when doing a flush.
