Which spark plug for SE

Postby mrbrossnan » Thu Sep 05, 2013 4:29 am

hey all,
sorry i know it's a topic discussed before, from my research lots of ppl go for NGK BKR7E11 or BKR7EIX11 (the iridium version).
is rating 7 too cold? and also does the gap needs to be adjusted to .8mm then as BKR7E11 is 1.1mm?
when i was checking NGK website it came up with IFR5T-8N.
which do you guys use for SE?

cheers

Hello,
I have a very modified N.B. with an Eaton supercharger etc etc and i am using NGK BKR5EIX11 Iridiums and they are just great. Quite expensive but have a look at this site - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-PCS-NGK-IR ... 1048156764 . They are selling at a good price. Don't be fooled by the compatability check, just go to NGK's site and you will find these are correct for the MX-5. Smooth power delivery and long life. These may be suitable for the your SE but double check with someone before installation -
Cheers -

thanks Soft On Top, yeah im not sure abt the 1.1mm or 0.8mm for SE.
Does SE reallly need 0.8mm gap? in that case my option is only NGK IFR5T-8N.. :?:

The best spark plugs are oldschool plain jane copper ones.

You want to go colder as you run high BMEP.

You can gap down but you will get a less complete burn.
