Hey guys, can anyone tell me what sensor is it at the bottom of the throttle body? I believe mine has been broken, my mechanic adjusted the side of the sensor a bit for me so that my car can start in cold weather and will not stall. What is this sensor call? Is there any where I can find it, buy it, and replace it?

They often work poorly due to being really dirty or corroded.
Take it apart and clean it using carby/maf cleaner.

You can't really "adjust" the iscv afaik so maybe he fiddled with the tps?

Have you ever adjusted the base idle? (Sorry not sure about it on NB's)

You could adjust it on the left hand side, there is a small hole, we used a screw driver to give it a quarter turn, and the rev is set about 1500r/min, so it won't stall when I start.

Is there any way I could get a brand new one?

ebay, wreckers etc have heaps. mazda 323s and ford lasers 96-98 use the same throttle body setup, so another option to look at.

it is a pretty common problem. lots of info on it if you search and use the term 'iac' or 'idle air control'.
