Racingbeat headers v xforce v unknown your experiences.

So now that I have sold the turbo gear, and most of the payments have been made and I have just received my tax return I am looking to upgrade the headers on my '94 NA8 to something a bit more performance orientated.

I have previously had a 'Loch Stewart' full exhaust on a couple of NA6s, including the cold air intake. I am now looking at Racingbeat headers from a forum sponser. I have been reading up on their newer 4-1 design v the older 4-2-1 version. I am liking what I read. Yes, I do realise they are not cheap, but they do look very noice, well made and do make a performance difference. Please note that I will be installing a 'Loch Stewart', Matty, Mania style cold air intake as well.

Before I spend the money I am wondering what experience fellow form member have had with Racingbeat headers v xforce v unknown headers.....i.e. are Racingbeat worth the extra money?

TIA.
J.

So for now, buy any headers that will last until you get cams, or buy the headers to suit the cams you will run.

4 2 1 generally has a better power spread then 4-1.

I think some of Garry stuart race cars run 4 into 1 designs but super long primary length and obviously a race car.

For a decent stretch a lot of the performance guys in the states swore by maxim works for both torque and power improvement ( documented in some cases). These typically were 1000 a set but are semi common now ( if your patient) for the 400 to 500 mark.

Sizing is reasonable for std to mild cams. I think the Mahura ones were a bit better at bigger cam / rev / hp levels but still gold plated pricing and very rare to see.

Jeff with my set up of Tighe 805c cams and a microtech I changed from XForce to RB 4:1 and lost a about 2RWKW and more importantly driveability.I know that the power loss although done on the same dyno and in the same temp range could be challenged as being within a margin of error but I did lose a fair chunk of low down torque on the dyno and it felt like it in the car.

However may be different on your car.

Exhaust note with both headers using the same cat and catback was similar.

Cheers,

Peter

Should have also said that I have gone back to XForce headers.

J, if you want to try out an NA8 with a full Stewart exhaust & Stewart CAI MkII (plus interceptor & CoP) let me know.

Can't speak for na8 but for my nb8b, Racing Beat 4-1 is better for lower torque. Very happy with them.

I recently picked up a 2nd hand D & T custom headers and 2.25 inch stainless exhaust to muffler

They are a 4-1 and have not fitted at this stage will update when fitted, i found this while researching and may assist
