not so long ago I had Dann install a centre exit exhaust for me.
i originally had him just do the axle back part with this muffler and two of this style tip (not exact photo).
it looked great and Danns work was awesome as expected.
but it was way too loud.
so i went back to dan to replace the 3.5 inch hotdog pre muffler with a bigger magnaflow 4 inch pre muffler.
that made it sound nice but still too loud. bearable but still too loud.
i looked around for the unicorn that seems to be muffled tips. i could not find anything that looked like it might actually work. until i came across these.
The Stebro muffled tip insert.

you basically insert them into your exhaust tip and the reduce the sound. i was not quite sure how well they would work but purchased them anyway.
they are secured by a single screw and are glass packed.
They come in either 2.5 inch or 3 inch and come in 3, 4 or 6 inch in length. I opted for 2.5 x 4 inch long. it cost me 140 delivered from Canada and took a little under a week to get to me.
if anyone is looking for a solution to reduce the noise but don't want to change your muffler for whatever reason these things worked a treat.
its much more quiet now and it didn't really change the note either which is what I liked about the system.
response seems to be down a little but nothing that will make a difference around town and they are easily removed if you don't want to use them on the track for a little more power.
alternatively they are a great removable solution to make your car pass a noise test (maybe).
build is solid but they are not pretty. they do sit inside the tip though so you would never see it.
i give them a score of 4/5.
