All depends on the dyno and the day.

Thanks Regie. I have heard various numbers, between 78 and 83 but wasn't sure if there was a more definitive source.

So Regie's "about 80kW" is right...you're not going to feel 2kW difference!

80rwkw seems about right.

But remember that dynos are affected by so many different things the figure is really only a VERY rough guide.

Even things as simple as a hot and humid day can change the reading by a couple of KW
as can tyre pressures, and heaps of other factors.

Can't get it more exact then that, depends on the dyno, tires ect.

Ie my car makes same hp (according to dyno sheets) with head work, cams and itbs as Plohls car with just smaller cams and a basic cai .

Different dyno, different day.

Yep exactly. PLus a whole bunch of other factors if comparing 'like for like' cars - octane rating of petrol (even if supposedly the same), plugs and leads etc etc etc

I have a stock nb8b motor and ecu. With only a pod filter, extractors and stock muffler it had 93rwkw. And that was on a club dyno day. So there where other mx5's there on the day to compare power. Mine was highest I think.

Sounds like a pretty good return for those mods.

Sounds like a pretty happy dyno. That or the one I used is very conservative...

Don't have the manual here but from memory they only ever rate flywheel power. 113kw for OZ nb8b
