getting a squeak noise when releasing clutch pedal

Does anyone know what's causing this noise? here's a video I took from under the car (where the noise is coming from):
It makes this noise whenever I release the clutch in every gear and in neutral. once it's in gear, there's no problems.
I think the clutch is about 1-2 years old, maybe 7-10k kms.

its the clutch fork rattling. grease up the area where the slave cylinder meets the fork. i put a bolt through the fork so the slave cylinder is always putting slight pressure on the fork.

Thanks I'll give that a try.

Yes- as above for the grease. Just did this super high performance mod myself. It's the slave and the the fork contact that makes the noise. Just grease.

The grease worked for a couple of weeks, but the sound's come back.
Can anyone elaborate on any other fixes?

if this bothers you then car ownership is going to be painful. Squeaks are nearly always the same problem- dry joint- a little corrosion etc - it could be any moving part in the clutch linkage- just do what everyone else does- either ignore it or locate by spraying some WD40.

The sound doesn't bother me at all. I'm just trying to prevent any bigger problems.

i found the problem isn't the contact point between the slave cylinder and clutch fork but the clutch fork inside the gearbox. you can either get a spring and put tension on the clutch fork so it is always putting pressure on the slave cylinder or you can do what i did and put a bolt through the clutch fork so the clearance between the 2 is minimal. i used washers for adjustment.

do this and your thrust bearing will always be in contact, always spinning, and prematurely die. Mick

i found there was a bit of play on the fork which is what caused it to vibrate so much. the bolt just took the slack away. obviously don't go overboard if you do what i did.

haha.... the squeak came back for me too. Don't worry about bigger problems with this though- it is just a squeak.... The longer term solution is probably to find a small plastic bush for the end of the slave, but like Mick mentioned you don't want it to be too thick as it will place pressure on the bearing...
