cam cover gasket

Postby mazdaz » Mon Dec 24, 2012 8:53 am

hello,

Replaced the plugs yesterday and noticed small amount of oil on the base of one plug. I am thinking cam cover gasket. I am going to replace it. My question is does it have to be done immediately? I need to drive the car for another week or so. I figure the worst that can happen is a plug gets wet and it runs like crap.

I had the same thing in one spark plug well and ran it for a couple of months, including a track day, before getting the gasket replaced. No noticeable issues.

This. Won't do any harm to leave it for a while if you need to.
