Advice Needed for Engine Swap

Postby ja9 » Wed Nov 21, 2012 6:31 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm planning on swapping my 1.6L engine for a 1.8L. My question is will my stock ECU run the new motor or do I need a new ECU or do I go for a piggy back option.
I need to do this as cheaply as possible. Your thoughts and advice appreciated. Don't forget to drop some ecu brands.

Cheers - John

Google is a good friend.
Lots of discussion about how to.

Can just use your 1.6 ecu.

Here is a quick summary.

Hi John, Automotive Plus (Service Division of MX-5 Plus Parts) regularly do this conversion and have a complete kit for it.

Give Jason a call on (07) 3863 5858 or e-mail him at service@automotiveplus.com.au for all the information.

Cheers,
Danny
