Na6 over cooling. Should I be worried?

Hi,
I have a stock Na6 with the original radiator and likely thermostat.
Coincidently or not but I've noticed that since a recent service which included a coolant flush the water temp tends to run cold when at speed (front normal running temp), or, when I'm traveling with the airconditioner on and the heater set. Turning the aircon off or if I'm really traveling setting the temp to cold gets the temp back to the normal setting of just under half way. I can literally get the temp to rise and fall at will.
It doesn't seem to be a thermostat stuck open which is all I seem to come across in my searches. Thoughts?
Thanks!

Cool running stock engine is nearly always thermostat.
The small cost of replacing that one ancient part would be my first stop in diagnosing the problem.

Just replace it. Be careful when doing up the bolts as the threads can cross. Don't use the included rubbish gasket, buy a seperate quality one.

As suggested the thermostat may need checking.
Another method is to get a non-contact temp checker and use that to see what the temps are in the thermostat housing and other spots. There maybe an issue with the temp sender.

Thanks guys for taking the time to provide your advice. Looks lie the thermostat is to be replaced, with a quality gasket!
Just wondering, is there any consequence to running an over cooled engine?

it will not just chew fuel. but you will wear rings, bearings and seal quicker at they dont expand to their correct tolerances when hot.
