Thought i would post up this review, though i know most won't be interested

Exec summary : Poor tolerance on manufacture means it still sitting on my shelf.

When planning the head /cams ect of my ITB build i came across these http://949racing.com/Hondata-Intake-gasket-Miata.aspx] Heat Shield Gaskets

coming from a carby background where it was common to fit insulators between the carbie and the manifold to prevent vapour look i thought i would look into it. I did some re search, found a similar product was sold by a number of agents / developers. Some more research found some who had fitted it to a KL 323 and done some reasonably scientific based testing and found good results. I guess it was worth the gamble if it only got a couple of HP it would be worth it and i had a heap of other stuff coming from the states.

Went to fit the item and the tolerance it had been made to left a significant trough at the intersection between my manifold and the head. As such i fitted a cheapo aftermarket stock inlet gasket and it fitted much better.

That photo was taken post head work but no shaping of the mouth of the port had been done. I have contacted 949 Racing via email and left a review on their website with no response in more then a week (the star rating can be seen but not the review). I left it that long encase they wished to investigate further.

So if any one is interested in a very slightly used gasket, please get in touch!
