I am thinking of building a motorkhana special using a NA6 that I have
It will need to be auto and mine is a manual
Can anyone tell me if I will need the tailsharft from an auto or are they the same
Also are the auto's electronic or the old style hydrolic

Any info on the auto boxes would be appreciated

My understanding is they are pretty much disposable when they break.

I have done the opposite, changed a auto car to a manual car.

The tailshaft is different. They run a computer to the auto so u will need the auto wiring harness, computer, auto box, the cradle that joins the box to the diff is different, the computer, the selector assembly. The dash is also different just a tad!

I have a tailshaft, auto box (low km) cradle basically everything except the harness for sale. cheap!!!

I reckon it'd be a lot easier to just go out and buy an auto car, swap any better bits into it and sell the manual car.

Anyone that I have ever seen convert a late model car always ends up twice as much out of pocket as anticipated, and takes much more time than planned. There is always something different needing to be changed.

Much simpler, easier and usually cheaper to just sell what you have and get what you want, save yourself alot of heartache.

It took me about 2 hours to change the car to manual!!

Its not a hard thing to do!!!

What was the cost involved? And did you change everything associated (eg: ECU etc etc.)

cost me $100 for the tailshaft, $500 for the race clutch, i used a 1.6 flywheel and gearbox, $150 for the gearbox to diff brace.

used the original ecu and still am, just cut the two inhibitor switch wires and join them, wire the reverse lights and your done.

The reverse buzzer still works too lol.

Oh forgot to mention the clutch slave bought this new for around $100

Theres a bolt on patch on the firewall you remove so the slave fits. All mounting points are in the car for the pedals to bolt to.
clutch and brake pedal $100. The whole conversion can be done for less than $1000.

It was a good option for me as i got an emaculate 96 na8 auto eunos roadster with 79k for $2000
