Has anyone replaced thier NA6 radiator with a standard OE style radiator and if so what brand did you use ?

Can anyone recomend a brand that produces the OE style of NA6 radiator ?

I'm not asking about all alloy ones like the ASI etc or the OEM Mazda replacement , {which incidentally Mazda Gold Coast today quoted me as costing $585.00 but there being non available in Aus-good move Maz as it's just comming up summer)

Just contact any radiator supply place. They will have them. Mazda don't carry much stock for NAs now, and don't service many. You'll find your dealer will get them through a chain and just put their mark-up on anyway.

By all means go with pamex advice - that would be my first step also go to Bursons and ask them to quote you. If you know someone with an account you s/be able to get a Trade price. Sometime ago someone also remarked about getting a new top tank and the radiator guys can quote this as well.

Koyo seems to be popular with US Miata owners:

Rosenthal Mazda in Arlington also offer the CSF2808 along with OEM which are of course more expensive:

Thanks for the replies all. :D

I went with a KOYO , OE fitment, the supplier was NatRad, retailed to me by Kools at Coopers Plains for $290.00 ordered yesterday, I picked it up this morning, fitted it this afternoon.

The fit was spot on quality appears good .

I have a resonable expectation that this will be a reliable produict.

Till it aint

There are at least 8 brands out there that I found producing NA OE pattern replacement radiators about which it is nearly impossible to get anything but conflicting information , where I could find any at all.

As for trusting your local radiator shop---good luck.

at a guess they might not be a OEM supplier but clearly one with good credentials. Another guess it will be a good product and warranted and with a local sales point. The big players for oem include Behr, Calsonic ,Delhi ,Denso Valeo and Visteon. Its often surprsingly difficult to find out who supplies to the oems as not all products have branding. I still think cheap products - and this is not in that category - are cheap and a radiator is such a critical product.

I beleive the OEM one is either a Calsonic or a Valeo.

I don't recall which, but I remember seeing a small stamping/label in the plastic somewhere.

Yep it's identical but with black end tanks  - I installed without taking pics but as soon as I figure out how to get the pics off my camera and onto my computer I'll post a pic of the top at least it may give some idea.

It has no markings whatsoever and only a small 'passed by inspector' sticker, I checked wth Nat Rad before I installed and they confirmed the KOYO provenance.

It comes with the metal side support brackets and bolt clips already in place , just transfer the fan/s, side hanger pin and rubber and side rubber grommet and metal washer/inset , plonk , back in it goes , not even a slight bit of fettling to brighten the day. :( it's so straigtforward you start to thing that something is wrong .

The one I removed was a Calsonic still works fine just a bit 'browned out' .
