Piston oilers/jets

Just wondering if all early B6 engines had piston oilers/jets as standard. On pulling apart my replacement engine I have them and was wondering if they are stock or if the previous owner has them put in when the turbo was installed?

Cheers.

Stock :)

Little benefit from the engines original turbo days.

I remove them for high performance N/A applications, not needed.

Pistons don't get hot enough?
A follow on question if so. If the pistons were ceramic coated the requirement for the oil jets would be even less?

In an N/A application the piston is kept cool enough, and there is plenty of oil floating about without the squirters. With a friction coating on the skirts the requirement is less, and anything that causes less heat transfer.
