Replacing top radiator hose

I need to replace the top radiator hose on my 1999 MX5 auto. Is this a job any mug with a screwdriver can do or is it a bit more involved?
I would imagine you would need to drain some coolant from the top radiator tank into a container, remove the old hose and replace it and then put the drained coolant back in....is it that simple?
Also, could you please advise the location of the drain plug. Thanks.

The drain is on the bottom in the middle, there is a round cap on the undertray you remove to get to it and you'll need a Phillips head to remove the plug. The radiator hose is very simple to remove. Just need vice grips or pliers. I'd probably replace the clamps though.

Easy job John. Let me know if you need help (although I'm headed to Phillip island this Fri to Mon).

I did this last week, I undid both clamps, removed radiator cap, pulled the hose, shoved in a new hose from supercheapauto($20) and redid the clamps.

You can make it more technical if you wish then just top the water/coolant up and remove any air bubbles from the engine before the cap goes on.

remember that mixed coolant is a nasty product- gloves required and do not spill on paintwork. You can also draw off coolant by siphoning with a hose into a clean container.

It's not that bad. Bottom screw on radiator is easier than siphoning. I've never seen it do anything to paint, though I wash or wipe clean when I spill any. You're not thinking of brake fluid are you?

pfft my coolant went everywhere. I just doused the area with hot clean water to tidy it up afterwards!
