Hi Guys,

Im just wondering how much should I expect to pay for when replacing all the belts? I've been told that it should be a fairly easy job as it doesn't require to take the engine out.

Just wana do some research so I can have a rough figure in my head of how much should I prepare for, or can anyone share their experience regarding the cost of changing their timing belt?

I'm also thinking of doing advance timing while i get the belts replaced, any suggestions?

by the way my car is a 1992 NA MX5 :D

Thanks

Anywhere from 80 bucks doing it yourself, to a few hundred for a professional job to a few thousand for a ripoff job.

Heres mine from Mazda, if you're going to buy the parts separately it'll give you an idea of whats wanted.

When doing a timing belt, it is best to also do water pump plus crank and cam seals
A kit with all the parts to do this is about $300
Labour is probably going to be around $300, maybe $400
As others have said, there are a number of discussion threads on this topic. Suggest you do a search for more details.

I just paid $1500 to get the pump and belt done. Depends if there are other issues going on...
