NC Reflash

Postby Regie » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:33 pm

I've just spend the morning at MX5 Racing talking to Chris about Re-flashed ECU's.

Chris has been a champion and let me try one of his flashed ECU's in my car.

WOW what a transformation!!! i came back from the test drive with a grin ear to ear!!

The throttle response has improved greatly, the throttle doesnt feel lazy anymore
The power just keeps delivering up to the higher rev limit (7500rpm)

It feels like i have installed headers all over again (those with headers will know what i'm talking about :) )

Chris has taken a copy of my ECU parameters, and ill be flashed very soon!

Check out his site: http://www.performancechiptuning.com.au/

When my tune is installed any Sydneysiders keen on the flash can have a drive if they wish :D

Hey Adam. Great to meet you today and give you the chance to "try before you buy". As Ajay says, MX5 Mania can do all the Sydney based reflashes. We've done heaps of work with them getting it perfected for the NC in particular.

Your beautiful car has almost identical mods to our Targa cars and therefore the tune was perfect for it!! You sure had a big grin on your face when you came back!!

Will give you a yell next week!!

Chris.

Rob, the reality is the tunes are very similar. The guys at Moto East have spent a lot of time getting theirs spot on too. I think you'd be lucky to pick the difference behind the wheel. That said I've a loaner ECU you can try anytime. 8)

Via data logging we can get the "perfect tune" for any car but, having run quite a few of them now, I know the "standard" reflash is excellent straight out of the box.

Thanks Chris.
I have another small change to make to my car then I'll be flipping some logs off to Mike Mann at MotoEast.
I've invested in his little red box already so I'll stick with him for the NA tune....The FI might be your job.
It will be interesting to see the dynos compared after mine has its custom tune.

not at all, when you look at the gains

you can spend $1K+ on a full exhaust system

or you can get a re-flash for the same amount of gain :P

then again if you already have the exhaust....which i do + the re-flash....its eatr to ear grins all the way :D :D :D :D :D

when my car is flashed, im happy to show you. (im in the shire, surfing all the time)

The FI might be your job

We've got a very nice reflash for the Cosworth supercharger kit. The results are very impressive whilst maintaining the driveability. Moveover the cost is the same as a std reflash 8).

This reflash is a tried and tested one that has been used successfully for quite a while in the US and throughout Europe and the UK.

MX5 Mania and ourselves are working on a special price for MX5 CLub and Forum members on our full range of reflashes - not just the MX's!!

Details coming soon!!
