miss.... fire????

Soooooo..... ages ago my car started to misfire - I was running COPs without a problem for a month or two - i had been putting off install some/a cap for a while because the car was running fine. Anyway, this misfire would randomly happen under load, between 2000-3000RPM and if i was lucky to catch it and hold the same rpm, you could get it have a number of misfires (multiple misfires even ). Anyway, i thought i had solved the problem by add 2 4700 uF capacitors in parallel of the COPs wiring. I installed the caps, changed the dwell to 2.5 on my ecu (haltec e6x - museum edition) and went on my merry way...
Until last week i noticed whilst driving my car like a pissed off teenager, that i had a misfire at 5k under heavy (foot) load. hmmm.... so i propmtly ignored and started driving the car normally again - tried to test it out on the high way a few times but didnt have a problem - random. Sunday I went to the dirt sprints - didn't notice anything unusual until i was driving home sitting at 3500 i would have a random misfire every few hundred meters or so - seem to disappear after a while.
I got up yesterday morning, drove the car to work and had no issues. Driving home was another matter - pretty much when ever i put my foot down i would get a number of misfires and the car would struggle to pick up revs
Made it to the gym - did my thing - drove home, no issues
Drove to work this morning with no issues - car drove like sh*t driving home.
So, I just re installed the standard coil packs and spark plugs - changed the dwell to 4.5 - car was only just drivable. Changed the dwell to 5ms - still misfired
So, having done this, and it is still misfiring - i check all my plugs - they looked like this

That was cyl 1 iirc
I checked the plug gaps (roughly) and they all seem 1 - 1.1mm
Check the fuel injector resistance - all read from 15.5 - 15.8 - limits as per the service manual is 12-16ohm
getting a new fuel filter tomorrow - couldn't pick it up today.
Anyone got any other ideas? things i should look at? have thought about getting my injectors cleaned - but.... that's expensive and i am feeling exceptionally cheap atm.
