DW300 fuel pump on NB8A?

Is anyone running a Deatschwerks DW300 fuel pump?
http://www.deatschwerks.com/products/fu ... -fuel-pump

My OE fuel pump packed it in today and I am going to get MX-5 Plus to install the DW300 as I have one kicking around, I'm just wondering if the standard fuel regulator will still cope with the extra flow?

I don't anticipate any issues but it's good to know others out there aren't having problems!

Just out of interest, my fuel level was run extremely low yesterday and this may have contributed to the pump failing if it wasn't keeping cool? I had since filled the tank and it died after a short trip this morning.

Cheers

This is gonna be of little help, but I'm not a fan of DW.
Years ago they have lots of bad feedback on providing fuel injectors that either don't flow the advertised rate and/or don't fit and refusing to replace/refund.

Check if that pump is comparable to cheapy no-name ones on fleabay. I found a youtube vid where it compares a copied Walbro to a genuine Walbro. They hooked it up straight to a battery and they made completely different sounds. The knock-off made a high pitched, high-revving, PC-fan-like sound; genuine made a much deeper, less manic sound.

Knock-off Walbro or Bosch pumps flow about 3/4 the advertised rate at best.

GTi-R boys are always back and forth with this issue.

It's a turbine impeller design like the Bosch pumps, the Walbros are roller cell. So I highly doubt it is a rebranded Walbro??

Ah ok. Just using the Walbro as an example.
What I'm getting at is IF a rebranded cheapie, then it's not worth swapping unless you are confident it will do it's job.
