Don your fire proof jacket for that one. A quick search would have told you the bore spacing on a 1.8 is different. Ie the heads don't fit.

I refer to Keith Tanners Mazda Miata Performance Projects "Retrofitting an NB head on an NA Engine". Pardon me, is this for the NA8 only?

He does mention the 1.6 in the article. The text implies the conversion is possible. Hence my confusion.

Dweezle is correct - the NA8 BP motor is what Keith Tanner is referring to.

I can't seem to find any reference to the NA6 model or B6 engine in my copy so perhaps just a little confusion when the author refers to the "NA engine"?

Great to see the question had some research behind it! Apologies on short response.

Fyi, while the NB head flows better stock, that's not the case once you do port work.
