Nope I meant outlet. Since it is between the oil pump and filter. Why an outlet is there I wouldn't know.

Its an oil return, an inlet, its often used to return oil from a turbocharger...

Yep that's what I though.
It's painful to use as an oil return just due to locale.
Not sure such a simple bung cover would deal with oil under pressure too well.

I tried use it to vent the block
I ran a hose through a catch tank
After 1 track day i had 2ltrs of oil in the tank
It was pumping heaps of oil out so I closed it up again

I know this is a old post but could it be used as a oil cooler return?
I'm looking at options to setup my oil cooler but also my catch can. As the head has two outlets not sure which one would be best.

A feed for what? use a sandwich plate.
Have a look in for sale, APU has a genuine works engineering oil cooler kit with everything you need,
