145,000kms original timing belt

Postby luke__ » Tue Mar 20, 2012 10:01 pm

I bought my car on 144'000ks and i've added about 600ks onto that. I asked the person i bought the car of if they did the 100,000k timing belt and she hadn't so now i really need to change it. I don't thing she had serviced it in a while so what exactly do i need to change so my car doesn't blow up. :O

$1,000 +....depending on whether you do the work or you take it to a mechanic.

x2. Fluid replacement should mean engine, diff, gearbox, brake, clutch AND coolant to give it all a nice fresh start for you.

Anyone recommend an oil or just what the mechanic has that's right for the car? I might be able to do oil myself. How hard is it?

Don't forget timing belt tensioner and isn't there an idler bearing in there too? Been a loooong time.
