thermostat replacement has smaller hole

Hey guys
radiator started leaking so I bought a new 52mm one and while I wait for it to arrive I have decided to do a reroute and so on.

I bought a new thermostat but as they didnt have the correct one I grabbed something similar.
the difference is the hole in it is noticeably smaller.

I thought I would consult here before just running it.
will the smaller hole affect the cooling system or will it be fine?

this car will see trackwork but is a road car.

cheers

Save the possible future hassle and get the correct one.

ok heres another question

I have to mount the water temp sensor from the rear of the engine into the front water neck (front neck and rear block off plate/heater outlet are switching places for this reroute)

as the fan thermo switch hole is bigger than the one for the temp sensor how would people go about mounting the temp sensor into the thermo switch hole?

I was thinking grub screw drilled and tapped to take the sensor (anyone got anything easier?)
