Hi All,
I seem to be having an overheating issue with my car that just suddenly came about. Basically the car is overheating but is much worse when driving at higher speeds than at idle. The reason I mention that is because I had a fan issue before and it was the opposite whereby it would be worse sitting in traffic.
I have checked the basics:
Oil in engine – Inbetween min and max
Coolant in the radiator, full, still has bright green colour, not leaking
Nothing obstructing the front of the car to disturb air getting in
So I have covered all the basics but apart from that I don’t not know much more what to look at so I have come asking for help. Can anyone that understands the fundamentals of the cooling system help? May the water not be circulating? Something to do with the thermostat? Any suggestions are much appreciated!
Thanks
Joe

Might want to flush your coolant if you haven't already and bleed it correctly also
Check your thermostat and see if it still operates correctly
And test your fan if they engage when the car starts to heat up

It's possible the cooling system is blocked and needs a flush. My car was like this when I first got it, would overheat when dríven in anger.

Thanks guys, will attempt a coolant flush when I get home from work today. Is it as simple as undoing the bottom plug letting it drain out, spraying it through with a hose, putting the plug back in and adding the new coolant?

Something to check is the coolant overflow line (from radiator cap to overflow container). Mine was blocked and would occasionally cause the car to overheat.
