Hi to all... :D

I recently became the new owner of a secondhand MX-5, 2009 NC with a retractable hardtop and the 6 speed Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shift. All of which works well but is very new to me. Could someone steer me in the direction (Brisbane) of a good (knowledgeable) auto man (or woman) who could modify transmission for a little heavy duty action. I would ideally like to modify the shift points and have the box shift a little harder. Does anyone know if the torque converter is of a lock up style or does it work with clutches etc...?

I have also been told that the 2009 NC with Auto Trans and retractable roof do not have the Limited Slip Diff..... is this true....? how can i tel what diff is in this particulae model....?

thanks in advance.... barneywomble... :D

Auto NC has no LSD. It is also a lower final drive ratio - 3.727 for manual vs 4.1 for the auto. However, 6th gear in the auto is 0.582:1 vs 0.832:1 for the manual.

thanks

I can't answer those questions. Maybe visit MX-5 Plus (see link at bottom of page) and see what/who they know.

If you decide you want an LSD and assuming that the centre in the manual and the auto are the same size I have a diff that came out of a manual at 42000 klms that i am going to pull apart and sell the CWP but will have the LSD available.

Sorry I cannot help with the other questions,

Peter.
