So I've gone from a 3.63 ratio to 4.1 and of course my speedo is off. I've got the sensor/sender for the 4.1 and would like to change it myself.
So questions are:
1. Is it difficult to do?
2. Where is it located?
3. Anything I should take note of? Special tools, don't turn it in a particular way, etc
Many thanks!

Re: Changing speed sensor
Tools required:
1 x jack
4 x axle stands.
10mm spanner.
1. Jack car up as high as possible and put it on stands.
2. Find plug on wiring loom on drivers side around 150mm from back of gearbox. The plug in question runs through a gusset hole in the power plant frame (PPF). Unplug it from the old sender unit (press the tang to release the locking mechanism)
3.The speedo sender unit is held by a 6mm bolt with a 10mm hex head. If you dont jack the car up high enough, it is a pain to get the angle right for the spanner unless you are used to this sort of thing. Undo the bolt and remove the unit by pulling and rotating at the same time. There is a o-ring on the sender, make sure the new one has one too.
4. Put the new one in, pushing and rotating at the same time. Make sure that the bolt holein the sender lines up with the threaded hole in the gearbox.
5. Put the bolt back in (not to tight as it is only a little bolt), and put the plug back in.
6. All done

Speaking of fluids, if you need a service Bryan before the track day I'm changing my engine oil and filter Monday so your welcome to come by after work and get it done.

At your new place? Thanks but I've got to get Evan...and not a good idea to do it in a suit!
I'll see if Mania can fit me in if I don't get it done this weekend.

I have the same job to do.
Manual says to drain tranny. I am afraid of having gearbox oil gushing over me. Maybe stands on the rear pushes the fluid forward, away from hole.
Any advice?
