Was hoping this would help somebody when they go to change their front cam seals and front crank seals. Go to any bolts and bearings shop and they will sell you these seals for roughly $4 each compared to $11 from repco/bursons/or even more expensive; the stealership

Cams - 34 x 48 x 7
Front Crank - 38.5 x 50.5 x 7

I think this thread would be really useful if somebody was changing their rear main seal, tranny seals and CAS O-Ring seals to measure/read the markings.

I searched everywhere over various mx5 forums and wasn't able to find these measurements

normally seals like bearings have part numbers. You can guarantee all products are not made equal. Rubber specs are not all the same and nor are tolerances etc. Experts can comment but quite often items are still imperial ie mm simply hard converted- not sure if this applies to these seals. One thing that is apparent is the cross reference catalogs for seals and bearings etc are often incorrect and some mechanics remove the item before ordering it- so you can often get the wrong item.
