Hey guys I have a 1991 1.6 MX5. Its an import 'roadster model'

Its has a lsd but I want to upgrade to the NB rear end.

Any idea what type of lsd I have and what do they sell for? It works very well :)

Any info is much appreciated.

Its just a viscous 4.3 diff like everyone elses. Id be amazed if it worked really well. Even new they are rubbish.

If you are lucky someone will pay 150 for it. or you can leave it on the site at 300 and wait 6 months. Thats usually how they go.

Ive had viscous diffs before and its definitely not a viscous. Ive jacked it up and spun the wheels etc it must be a clutch or torsen lsd...

When you jack up a torsen and spin the wheels they just act like a regular open diff.

Is it a 1.6 diff or 1.8? Are you sure?

When i jack it up the wheels act like a 2 way clutch pack lsd... its a 1.6 car and looks like a 1.6 diff housing/shafts...

Where are you located OP? I might be interested even if it's an OEM one.

FYI - with my viscous diff, if you jack up the back and turn one wheel the other wheel goes the same way, so spinning a wheel is not a great test, either that or mine is knackered :)

Most viscous diffs were knackered about 12k's from the factory floor.
