So! I desperately need a new clutch for my na6 and thought why not put in a lightweight flywheel at the same time, I've gone through so many threads on different forums but alot of them are slightly outdated. So i'm looking for some advice!
The car is a daily, but i do like to bring it down to Wakefield every now and then.
suggestions?
I've looked at the FM combo as well as some fidanzas etc.
Thanks for any help!!

Not sure what the price is for the organic Exedy kit but you can get a Xtreme HD clutch kit for $250 and that is with an Exedy clutch disk.
So far slightly more pedal pressure but feels great!!

Thanks so far for your help! The exedy clutch is $550+ is it worth it vs the 250ish options?

You'll wanna shop around on that price.
From memory $250ish in Brissy with spigot bearing.

i called around.
The Xtreme clutch website has a list of dealers.
http://www.xtremeclutch.com.au/page.asp?parentid=7I got mine from Gardiners Auto i think, in Carlton Sydney.
They order it and about 3 days later they received it and i picked up from them.
I called about 4 places all with slightly varying prices.

Hi Lisa.
I installed a Flyin Miata Clutch Happy Meal and I'm happy with the results. The engine definitely spins more freely and the clutch is more than up to the task of transmitting my 80-odd kilowatts. In traffic I do notice the lighter fly-wheel, as it takes a little bit more care to get it off the line without stalling. It's certainly not peaky, but definitely not as torquey off the line when using low revs. I use my car mainly for track days, motorkhanas and hillclimbs and it's perfect for me. I have another totally unmodified NA6 that I use day to day, and personally I wouldn't fit a lighter flywheel for daily driving. Having said that, if I only had one MX-5 and I wanted to hot it up a little, the Happy Meal would be a good choice.
I hope that helps. Don't hesitate to send me a PM if you want to have a chat with me on the phone.
Cheers,
Trav.

I assume that an Exedy sports tuff clutch is made for the NA6 and this should be ok. I was informed for a daily just to stay with a standard clutch on an NB. If you buy local you get a full warranty and the clutch fitter will also guarantee their work. Ask the clutch fitter or Exedy for advice. Personally I would not even think about a lightweight flywheel and some people would not buy a car with one fitted .

Not having a dig, but would love to know your reasons behind your solid "NO LIGHT FLYWHEEL" stance.
I have toyed with the idea quite often.

I also just finished installing a Flyin Miata Happy Meal and the lightweight flywheel and would not hesitate to recommend this combination.
The take up on the clutch is wider and way more progressive than the stock item. As for the flywheel the engine definately spins up quicker
and I found no problem with the lack of weight ( that is stalling etc ).
To my way of thinking "Go for it".
Hope this helps.
John.
