Hi guys,

I am thinking about to do some mods myself and were try to unplug the air sensor the one plugged into the airbox. I have tried google and forum search function and couldn't find anything. So this might be something very simple and problem is just my limited mechanical skill. Can someone please tell me what is the easiest way to unplug the air sensor? I pull it and it tight as. I try to find any clip on and nothing was on it. Should I unscrew the whole thing? Thanks

Hi, I think you have an NA6 right?

The plug that goes into the air flow meter has a metal clip that goes around it (it might be hiding under the black rubber that goes around the end of the plug). What you need to do it get a small flat head screw driver and slowly lever the ends of that clip off. Then you should be able to pull and disconnect the plug.

Hope my paint skills make some sense... cannot find photo of said clip

Unless you have an aftermarket computer and fuel pump arrangement with different wiring, The car will NOT start with that plug disconnected. Its both the AFM and the iat sensor along with some other bits for the ecu, its not as simple as you think, it seems.

Id be negligent to tell you how to run it with it disconnected without knowing what you intend to change, because i wouldnt want to see you burn holes in pistons or cause a fire.

So, whats the plan?

Dan, pretty sure he's probably just making/installing and intake system and needs to remove the stock airbox.

definately don't unscrew the thing to take the plug off. a good way to break the circuitry contact pins inside.
