NB8 91 or 95 ron fuel?

Was the Aus spec 99 model tuned from factory on 91 or 95 ron fuel?

NB8As can run on 91.

Hamx5ter has been doing it for years and it hasn't affected his driving habits one bit... :lol:

Not sure about the 99 model but the NB8B 2000/2001 was 95 or above, I run mine on 95 with no prolem

Redbook is a good guide. If you lookup 200 and 2001 models, it says 91 ron, which Dale says is wrong

Yep it seems to run fine, but it will use more fuel if it has been tuned for 95.

To answer that then, the only relevant difference is knock resistance, and although moving the CAS to change timing is an entire map change that wont affect the timing curve, this will 'fix' the issue with running fuel 4 octane points out.

Please dont give engine tune related advice just because it sounds right and your mates mate once read it on the internet and told you.

I can't speak for RED book,....

but my information came straight out of my manufacturers hand book that came with the car new and if Mazda recommend to use 95 or better then thats what I will be using

Indeed, RB is only a guide, & it's wrong for the NB8B, but it's not wrong for the NB8A.

GP maybe some people think that the forum is a place for giving good correct information when you have it and reading good correct information when you dont. And telling people info you just pulled out of your ass because it sounds about right down at the pub is NOT what the forum is for.

If the info was regarding door trims who cares but not steering brakes or engines please, because thats just negligent.
