Believe Japan & US got the bulk of NA6 autos, which as an H reg, I'm assuming is 1990-1991.
So, not a lot of experience of these autos here in Australia, however from an aftermarket manual the auto trans dip stick appears to be located on the front driver side (RHD) of the transmission, in the vicinity of the starter motor, under the intake manifold. According to the manual, refilling is via dip stick guide tube.
Going by the following, the auto can be slow to move until warmed up:
