what sort of rear wheel figures are people pulling out normal aspirated engine?on na mx5s

i was interested in performance figures ,not a dollar value i know people who spent big bucks for no big gains

The B6 motor responds well to forced induction. 8)

N/A tuning never seems to result in much.

If I do another track day with the club, I'll try and remember that :roll: :roll: (and that blue NC and silver evo should remember this)

HP isn't the be all end all, Torque and where you get it is what will get your NA going.

Making 100rwkw after fitting new Tighe 1409a cams, double valve springs. Toyota quad throttle bodies from a 4age Silvertop, extractors, head rebuild, and Autronic SMC ecu. Not much change from $4000.00
Cams ended up being a little too much for engine rev range as they were still making power past 8000rpm.
I'm still using hydraulic lifters though.

Just as a comparision I have a 1800cc with the same mods as clubman 7 and my MX5 puts out 122rwkw
A few extra cc and therefore a few extra rwkw
Power is great but it depends what you want to do with it?
Autotests, sprints, drags, just the streets?

Slap a turbo on the engine and be done with it, easily the best bang for buck.

Guran's factory standard NA6 did a 74rwkw from the last MX5 Club Dyno Day last year.

As stated, his NA6 has no mods in the engine and/or drive train. AFAIK, the only changes Guran has made are for safety on track days (ie. BD rollbar; racing seat and harness etc).

About the same as the clubman here, but with 10.5 compression, solid lifters, heaps of bottom end balancing, adjustable cam gears and a serious port job. Im guessing a bit more power on the same dyno. I dont have quads but they dont gain power really just response.

71rwkW actually :D . I think it was your Clubman that pulled 74rwkW, though that was with stock timing. 8) My NA6 is indeed stock except for the BD rollbar, harness, seat, steering wheel, bonnet clips, and CD player & speakers. Timing is set at 14deg BTDC and that's it for the engine and drivetrain. I've still got the original open diff too.

Looking forward to using some more of those brave pills tomorrow at Wakefield! :mrgreen:
