Launch Control & full throttle gear changing
While at king Edward park this weekend I ran into my friend Dan from newcastle. Afterwards we had a drag race in a quiet industrial area. He has a modified naturally asperated 1.6 that is as quick to 100kph as my supercharged 1.8 with 135 rwkw. He has a well set up launch control and can change gears with his foot on full throttle. This is the first I have heard of an MX5 with this set up...

Re: Launch Control & full throttle gear changing
I have launch control and full throttle shift available on my Megasquirt PNP, it works off the clutch pedal sensor. I have switched it off for the time being because I need to wire up a relay to cut the clutch pedal signal to the ecu when the brake is on. The full throttle gear change setting kicks in when doing heel and toe on the down shift, hence there is no ignition so you cannot do it.
Launch control is pretty good, but you have to set it up for the surface, because it is only really a fancy rev limiter on the Megasquirt, so it does not sense wheel spin or anything, but it is good, if you get the revs set right for the surface you will launch well and just get a little wheel spin and keep the rev up in the power band.
