Question re cam timing on NA 8

Postby michael » Wed Aug 11, 2010 10:02 am

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me, with certainty, the number of degrees before bottom dead centre when the exhaust valve opens, for a 96 NA8 standard engine.

Thank you
Michael

are you refering to spark or cam timing broady?
and yes they are related but would be two different things altogether.
what he's asking has more to do with the opening duration of the cam profile and where it starts to move the valve open.. .....right?

Mazda specs for the 95 model NA8 are:
IN: open 5 BTDC, close 48 ABDC
OUT: open 56 B BDC. close 14 ATDC
’95 NA8

Thanks Magna_blue and fellas,

I was referring to the cam timing and when (degrees of rotation) the cam starts to open the exhaust valve and ideally when the exhaust valve then closes. That's what you have provided, right magna-blue ?

Regards
Michael

Yeah, and the specs provided by manga-blue are exactly the same as the ones on the solomiata site...
