Please explain the different Diffs avail for an NA6

Which one is better and why are there so many?
I note that with my 92 na6 long nose crank, it's an 'open' diff but if there's going to be extra grunt added, what's the deal with the other available diffs?

i remember viscous LSD of my good ol and ancient '90 Pulsar Q LOL

can someone explain please....

1) standard 6" 4.3:1 open diff

2) OEM viscous 6" diff - these are known to wear out though, so are probably ineffective at this age

3) Aftermarket centres for the 6" diff (KAAZ, CIG locker, spool, etc)

The 6" ring and pinion are quite weak and can break even with OEM power levels.

4) 7" 4.1:1 diff from a NA8 - this upgrade involves retrofitting the tailshaft and driveshafts also.

5) OEM TorSen version of the above. Type I and Type II Torsens are available from different years. This is probably the best option for a road car.

6) similar centres as per 3, but with more options (eg Guru, RX-7 clutch pack). Also more gear ratio options. (3.6, 3.9, 4.1, 4.3, 4.44, 4.57, 5.?). Best choice for racing.

The 7" R&P is much stronger.

So, an OEM TorSen is the way to go? what're the differences in the type 1 and 2?

which lsd's were available in the original 89 na6?

Hey gussy,

is your lsd the same as the one thats for sale from mania ? (Mazdaspeed NA6 Clutch Pack Limited Slip Diff)
wanted to know hows the drive feel and if its worth purchasing ..
