Who has a Fujitsubo exhaust system?

Postby twinlol » Sat Aug 07, 2010 4:32 pm

Hey guys,

I have found a place in Australia that can get me a power-getter/rm01a system for my NB8B for only $1450.
I'm having trouble finding basically any reliable reviews etc of the systems, but I know for other cars, such as Honda's and previous gen mx-5s they are top notch.
I would appreciate any information from owners of this system.

Also, what intake are you guys running on your NB8Bs? as the Mania one doesn't fit, and the K&N typhoons design appears as if it would effect mid range torque due to resonator delete.
Cheers :)

Im not sure about your exhaust... But as far as intakes go, Kev is selling probably the best intake for the NB8B made IMHO.

as said, look at getting Kev's SP motorsport intake, imo the best intake for the NB.

Secondly, the fujitsubo exhaust for the NB is only a muffler (ie/ doesn't replace the mid pipe) and iirc fujitsubo only make the LegalisR for the NB.

If you want to spend $1,450, either look at an SMB exhaust, or jet's integral kobe exhaust.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.
After I get confirmation of this from jdmyard I'll place an order on the SMB one most likely, seems like a pretty solid deal.
I've also Pm'd regarding the SMB intake, looks fantastic.
Has anybody get any sound clips of a SMB exhaust?
I'd love to listen :P

Just heard from the supplier, as you guys had suspected, only the legalis R is available, which is only axle-back.
Looks like SMB it is, I'll be sure to post up all about it for those in my situation here on in.

I'll see if I can get a video up of my SMB system on Thursday. No promises though.

hey sliq, generous offer man, but unfortunately I'm based in Armidale/Tamworth right now.
But of course, you are still welcome to swing by :P

I've been talking to SMB, trying to decide between the 100 cell and the 200 cell, I asked:

What is the HP difference between the 100 cell and the 200 cell?
any graphs etc you have that can help me decide would be greatly
appreciated, as Ill be ordering 2 systems late this week.

To which they replied:
SMB wrote:Hi Adrian,

If your vehicle is to stay normally aspirated, stick to the 200 cell as
it provides a little bit of much needed back pressure to the engine.
Putting a 100 cell on a normally aspirated Miata would be a backward
step as far as performance.

If it is a forced induction vehicle go for the 100 cell

So I couldn't get a definitive answer about the 100 vs 200 cell cat-back. It seems unusual that the exhaust's design requires back-pressure to be established at the cat. Back-pressure is best distributed throughout the system, so I'm surprised this wasn't included in the design. So do any of you guys with N/A cars run the 100 cell? Or did you stick with the 200 cell?

Cheers.

i was of the view the 100cel was not street legal. can someone confirm this?

i'd stick with just the cat back and not the secondary collectors with the cat. better value for $ unless you're chasing every inch of power.

Sliq, the legality is based on emissions, so depending on other modifications (cams etc) and the car in question a 100 cell could pass emission laws.
