Another Clutch Question

I purchased my 99 NB with 58,000k on the clock. At 60,000k I lost the clutch operation on a run and corrected the fault when I got home simply by bleeding the clutch which had a fair amount of air in it.
I had no trouble until now at 85,000K when I lost the clutch again going home from the 20th anniversary run to Newcastle (great weekend) . I've bled the system again with only a small amount of air present and all is OK again.
I know it's a long time between incidences, but Is there something going on that I should know about? Should I do something?

Have you checked the clutch slave cylinder? It could be leaking and sucking in air. I know it was a pretty common problem with the NA's so maybe NB's as well. Since you've bled the clutch you'll know where it is, Pull the rubber boot back see if it's full of clutch fluid.

Agree
Later NA's and NB's use the same slave cylinder so the problem carries on.
Replace (or rebuild if you have the time) the slave cylinder will solve the problem.
Mine died at 90k Km.
I paid $80 for a non genuine (was in a hurry) and about an hour to fit.

it could be the clutch master aswell mine (NB9B went out at about 100 k km)

you will know its a leaky master because some of the paint on the fire wall under the clutch master is melting off...

clutch slave is cheap and easy to replace a 2 hr job tops...
