Replacing lower boot.

My lower boot is shagged, had a look at the shifter today but the boot is different from the rubber replacements I've seen. It has a metal ring that bolts to the turret with the rubber boot attached to the ring and a nylon bushing above and below the ring. Anyone know how to get the old boot off?

Just cut the rubber parts & pull it out. Think mine had a plastic ring, but I don't remember it being difficult to get it off though.

Remember to put the ring back on first before the new boot.. I didn't, had to wait till the new boot wore out before I could get the ring back on with another new boot lol.

Yeah just cut the old ones off. You might need some side cutters to get through the plastic ring.

When putting the new ones on, smear vaseline over the gear lever before trying to slide them on.
