inlet manifolds

hey all,
just wondering if there is much difference between the na6 and na8 inlet manifolds.
im contemplating putting an na8 manifold on my b6,
all i need to know is if there will be much hassle with vac hoses/manifold bolts/throttle cable and things of that nature.

any feedback is appreciated.
thanks
chris.

the 1.6L and 1.8L manifolds are not interchangeable. the ports don't line up. afaik.

I'm just a bit curious, is there a reason that you'd want to swap the manifolds?

i picked up a weapon r secret weapon intake pipe, but its for an na8,
the difference is that the na6 ones bend under the top radiator hose,
the na8 ones due to the manifold outlet being higher,go straight across above the radiator hose.
3 options,
either use an na8 manifold ( if its an easy job)
cut the intake and weld a bend into it to get under the radiator hose,
or source a different radiator hose to bend around the intake pipe.

Or, the easiest option of all;
Sell the intake and buy the right one.

I'd say the radiator hose is probably the best option (short of selling it and buying the right intake as Bruce says, but I have no idea if these things are rare or not). At least, the rad hose is what I'd do.

selling and buying the right one WOULD be an option, except it would kill my whole profit margin.
picked this one up for less than half price.
looking into rad hoses today,
trying to find one similar but with a little kink in it wont be fun... :(

NA8 intake manifold is longer than NA6 intake manifold as BP engine of the NA8 & NB8 is longer than the B6 engine of the NA6.

NA8 thermostat housing is different to NA6 thermostat housing, which also helps intake crosspipe to go across the top of the top radiator hose.
