Gearbox and Driveshaft

There seems to be a ring of moist residue around the chassis (in the transmission tunnel) where the gearbox and driveshaft meet.

Anyone know the cause?

edit: I wonder if this is what needs to be replaced...

From what you describe its probably the rear trans seal.

get it from here http://www.finishlineperformance.com/ if u're not in a rush

I saved $100+ by buying all my parts there instead of local mazda.

Without seeing the car I would say it does sound like a rear gearbox seal.
