When you it stays like that, do you mean that the pressure guage on the dash does not move? After about 10 minutes of driving you should see the pressure drop at idle, but remain steady at higher engine revs. I would unplug the single wire from the oil pressure guage sender, clean the connection and reattach the wire. The snder is on the drivers side of the engine, just near the oil filter. A bad/dodgy connection can make the guage do funny things. Let us know if this does not change anything.
Having said that, you mentioned that the your car overheated. Have you checked to see if you have engine oil in the coolant, or coolant in the engine oil, either of which indicates that your engine head has warped due to the overheating and needs to be repaired.

oh sh*t..
well i think the head gasket is warped if thats what u meant by the head..
i saw it was seeping coolant and then opened the radiator cap and i saw quite a few air bubbles when it wasnt even running..
also the engine is burning excess oil as i have just found out which explains that smell in the cabin..
well looks like my na needs a new engine.. there was a small wobble in the crank pulley so it was only a matter of time..
thanks.. any other info or help would be great just to double check ..
cheers
