Gearlever for NB 5 speed

Postby Divo » Tue Dec 01, 2009 9:13 pm

Hi

Building a Locost clubman.
Tried fitting a short shifter to an NB 5 speed. The top of the turret has 2 dowel pins but the shifter has only a single rather than double groove machined out and lined with nylon or plastic of some sort. Is the NB lever different to the earlier models ? It seems to me that a short shifter for an NB needs 2 machined grooves for each pin. Can anyone confirm please? Are these style of shifters available for the NB?
Gearbox I bought did not come with a lever so can't check against original.
cheers

MD

Sounds like you have an NA short shifter.

The NB has the two grooves.
Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever.
