yeah, long title, but it gets my point across.

does the Loch Stewart intake (panel filter) fit on an NB8A with aircon?

I saw a few pics of one on an NA and the airbox sat right up near the stock washerbottle location, however on the NB8A the aircon condensor can is in the same area.

does the box fit around it? or sit back enough that there's room?

if not I might have to go for a pod style one :(

bump since the box came back up for sale :D

basically, so far I've only found pics of it fitted to NAs, and from those pics it appears to sit right up near the firewall (which is where my gay a/c condensor sits, which it may not fit around?)

here is one on SuperMazdaKart's old car:

Here it is on Slammer's old car:

but then again, it looks like the NA's airbox arrangement is located much further back than the NB8A.

any answers on if it fits an NB8A with Air con?

and any pics of it on an 8A?

Here's a pic of my engine bay showing the condensor location and lines.

Why not just get the Loch Stewart Mk 2 or MX5 Mania CAI, which are similar? Slowpoke's 10AE has the Mk 2 fitted & I'm pretty sure it has AC. You might even be able to just buy the funnel to the firewall to attach to your own Simota partially enclosed pod, which is what I did.

There is NO WAY that will fit on an NB8A without removing your A/C Dryer Receiver and associated pipework - you have two options, the first is No A/C at all, and the second would be to go to an Air Conditioning Specialist and pay a large sum of money to have your Dryer Receiver Relocated which involves custom pipework, that can be done; but is it worth it ?

yeah, I've been thinking of instead buying the Mania one, the Loch Stewart sounded good in that it's relatively cheap, and uses a panel filter (I'm not a fan of Pods, an oiled washable filter sounds dodgy to me, but I think you can buy dry pods cant you?)

yeah, neither are roads I want to go down.
Summer without aircon = death.

I believe you can buy dry pods, but from memory when I replaced my OEM paper panel filter with a K&N panel it was of the oiled washable cotton variety. The Simota partially enclosed pod I use has a similar washable cotton filter. Here's a bit of discussion from early this year: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=35155
