Holy s^&t! What on earth were you doing when that happened?

In answer to your question, the easiest thing to do is replace it with another SE/NB8C diff housing. I am not aware of a stronger diff housing specifically for the SE/NB8 differentials. However, I am sure one of our other forum sponsors (MX5 Plus, MX5 Mania, etc) should be able to source you a used item.

There is the V8 Roadster Getrag rear driveline conversion but I am not sure if they can be used with a standard SE Gearbox.
Sorry, no links as both FM and V8 Roadster diff webpages are not loading up on my laptop at the moment...

P.S. I still can't believe that you broke a SE diff housing on that section. Surely that must be unique situation for that to have happened?!? :?

All torsen style diff's have a break point cast into the housing and this is where yours has failed.  They were designed this way so the diff would move backwards to absorb the energy in an accident. You can actually repair the housing pretty easily by welding it up - if you can't get another one.  I've never seen one break another way so your is a bit strange. Nevertheless I'm sure you'll be back on the road in no time.
