It's on the bottom of the throttle body, I'm not exactly sure where it's meant to go

After a couple of beers I think I remember what it is, the original crossover pipe hasnt been anywhere near the car since the NA stuff was ripped off a few weeks ago, it has a hose that comes off it that goes into this fitting doesn't it? I'm thinking its for idle airflow when the throttle butterfly is closed? I don't think my AVO kit has anywhere to feed it from though?

If that's on the throttle body, its the Idle Control Valve.

I assume that it needs to be connected after the afm and before the turbo? I can't just chuck a little breather filter on it?

Stock NA8s have these connected up to the intake piping. Just before it enters the TB. I'm pretty sure taking it out will result it in idling like a pig. As for turbos...I would imagine it to be run before the turbo as the compressed air might much about the the sensors? I'm not too sure.

Ahhhhhh, I thought that brass fitting you have the other end connected to was for the blow-off valve, this makes a bit more sense. Where do I connect the bov then though?

Thought you wrote you weren't going to have one. Your last turbo (old Skyline?) didn't.

It came with a recirculating Bosch unit, I'd run that. I just don't like the stupid noisy ones

Ad, my BOV is on the other side of the intake, you can see it in the pic. Isn't yours the same as mine?

Mine only has the one fitting on that pipe. Maybe I'll see about putting another one on it

Change of plan, will run a t-piece inline between the fitting and the bov

Ok, those problems are now solved. Photos in my garage thread if you're interested.
New problem
Did the vac lines today then tried to start the engine, with the stock ecu. It should be able to idle on that even with the kit installed.
Unfortunately, it won't start. It cranks over nicely on the starter motor, no bearing knocking or anything, you can hear the air coming out the dump pipe going foomp foomp foomp foomp foomp (but quickly). It has spark and I could smell petrol when I pulled the plug out.
Could the timing be way off? We put a new timing belt in and it went on in the same position as the old one.
I also want to try changing the cam angle sensor for the one from my old engine but I don't know how to remove it.
Are the fuel lines connected to the right end of the fuel rail? This seemed the most logical way to do it to me

Cheers

Fuel Lines are wrong
Swap them over should work then
Is this a fresh Engine ? If so follow break in procedures
