I am looking into getting an LSD but this is a lot of money for me so I am trying to make sure I get something good at a good price.
I have read conflicting things about the KAAZ LSD for the NA6, some people saying they have been through a few with almost stock power others saying they have never broken one with their car that has lots of power. This sounds like it is probably more to do with the way they drive and I am worried as I would probably be someone to put a lot of stress on an LSD although I don't have any major power upgrades.
I am also wondering about the MazdaSpeed LSD as I had trouble finding information about it, weather it is 1.5 or 2 way. I sent an email to MX5Mania but they didnt respond. I vaguly remember someone saying that it is actually a KAAZ LSD but I have no idea how true that could be. It seems like they might make both, if so what would MX5 Mania be selling?
Also if you know of somewhere which has a good price id like to know about it, and anything else you think it would be good to tell me.
I posted a wanted ad in the second hand parts section so I guess if you have one you would like to sell it might be better to reply there.
Thanks

Think I read the weak point with the 1.6 diff is the crown & pinion. Doesn't matter which diff you get as the weakpoint stays the same? So if in doubt of durability, just save up for the 1.8's diff setup as if you just break one 1.6 diff you'll end up spending more money then if you had just gone the 1.8 diff in the first place. Don't get comfortable with false economy.
Think you wrote you wanted to try drifting at a later time? I think you'd be much better off with the 1.8 diff.

iirc Mazdaspeed are 2 way, but they don't lock as hard as other aftermarket brands.

If the crown and/or pinion goes would that wreck the LSD or could you just replace those gears and keep using the same LSD?
