I have a slight oil leak from the top / rear passenger side of engine. Have replaced cam cover gasket and CAS 'O' ring. Now all dry around back of engine, but still have slight leak around where head and block meets. Is there an oil galley up to the rocker gear around this area that could leak from around head gasket? Can you get an oil leak from betwen head and block?
It's a very small amount of oil that appears here, just enough to wet the metal. Anyone seen this before?

Is it definitely oil? If it's on your passenger side, it could be a leaking heater-hose.
Hopefully it's a simple matter of perhaps you just didnt tighten the bolts on your cam-cover tight enough.
I'm probably headed to MX-5 Plus this Saturday, perhaps bring your car around and we can have a squiz.

Hi Andrew,
It's definately oil. Cam cover gasket is not leaking, all dry above where the oil appears at the head gasket line. Sorry Saturday booked out, can't get to Richard's place. It's not a big deal as it is very slight leak, just a bit annoying. I hoped someone had seen it before. I'll double check cam cover gasket in case the oil is burning off the head as it dribbles down.
Thanks mate.

Yes, had this before. Think it's head gasket, but it never seems to get too serious.
