Bah, car went home on a flatbed today, the joys of DIY work :P

OK, basically the deal is, a clutch hard line was too close to the side of the engine bay, and with vibration, used the engine bay to wear a hole in itself...

What do people think the best way to repair this would be, can you do some soldering/braizing to it, or is it better to just replace the hard line?

I wouldn't try patching. Minimum, cut out the damaged section and use tube union fittings to join in a few piece.
Best would be to replace.
I'm wrecking my NB, if it's the same and I think it basically is, I might be able to help you out...

MX-5 Plus sell a braided clutch line that goes from the master straight down to the slave instead of going over the engine and back. Might be worth looking into?

Does that replace the hard line that goes down to the slave too?

Wun, if someone told you this, then they should be hunted for sport.
The loop is there to absorb/dissipate vibration.

Sucessfully replaced in a carpark in the dark with a sexy bit of braided line from Carco - Cheers Russell.

Replaces a million miles of hard line with like 100mm of braided - clutch feels better too now actually.
